CM Thanks PM And Defence Minister For Rafale Arrival In India

News Desk: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal yesterday thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh for arrival of first batch of Rafale fighter jets in the country for induction in Indian Air Force. He said that due to the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Modi, the country’s air security apparatus has reached a landmark day today.

The five fighter aircrafts, which were flown by Indian Air Force (IAF) pilots, arrived in the country after covering a distance of 7,000 km with air-to-air refuelling and a single stop in the United Arab Emirates. The aircraft will be officially inducted into the IAF in the second half of August.

Through a statement today, Sonowal expressed optimism that the induction of Rafale fighter jets in the Indian Air Force would substantially bolster the country’s air defence capabilities and would prove to be a game-changer in boosting the air force’s striking power.  The multirole aircraft would bring advanced technologies to Indian Air Force and serve as a deterrent to any threat to the country’s security, he said.
