Guwahati: Garga Chatterjee, a Kolkata based intellectual has landed himself in trouble after calling Chaolung Sukaphaa, the first Ahom king and also the founder of Ahom dynasty a ‘Chinese Invader’ on twitter.
Chatterjee, a TMC stooge, in a tweet at 9:14 pm on Wednesday not only termed Sukaphaa as a Chinese invader but also made derogatory remarks on the great leader.
The Bengali intellectual who has a very little knowledge about Assam tweeted “There is a State in India where the “State Day” is celebrated to commemorate a Chinese invader who brutally attacked India with Chinese troops”.
He also criticized the CM of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal for celebrating Sukapha’s valor, who according to him is a Chinese invader also idolized by the militant group named United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA).
Bhaskar Gogoi a resident of upper Assam has filed a First Information Report (FIR) against Chatterjee at the Dibrugarh Police station for his derogatory remarks on June 18. Gogoi also called upon the Assam Government to write to the management of Twitter so that Chatterjee’s account is suspended.
Chatterjee’s tweets come against the backdrop of the Indo-China standoff which has turned violent and 20 Indian soldiers were martyred in a confrontation with the Chinese army on Monday night.
Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has instructed Guwahati Commissioner of Police to arrest Chatterjee and bring him to Assam.
Chatterrjee in the meantime has deleted his tweets.
