Indian Railways Cancels All Regular Passenger Trains Till August 12

News Desk:  In the wake of the ongoing pandemic, the Indian Railway has decided to suspend regular time-tabled passenger trains which include mail express, passenger, and suburban services. The following train services were suspended by the centre till June 30, will now remain suspended till August 12.

However, special trains which include 30 Rajdhani trains, 200 Mail express trains will continue to operate.

The Shramik Special trains which started with effect from May 1, Rajdhani Special trains which started from May 12 and the other passenger trains which started from June 1 will still continue.

Also, trains carrying essential commodities, parcels and petroleum, oil and lubricants, and movement of freight will continue.

Among the trains which will still continue to operate are New Delhi-Dibrugarh (daily) Special Rajdhani, Dibrugarh-Delhi (daily) Special Brahmaputra Mail, Agartala-Anand Vihar (weekly) Special Rajdhani, Guwahati-Lokamanya Tilak Terminus (bi-weekly) Special Express and Guwahati-Jorhat Special Jan Shatabdi.

The latest decision to suspend train comes due to the rapid rise of positive cases of the ongoing pandemic.
