News Desk: On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi trashed all the supposition of reimposition of lockdown. He urged all the Chief Ministers to “fight rumours”. He has requested the states and UTs to gear-up for Unlock 2.0, while being mindful of the challenges that will arise.
On the second day of the 6th PM-CM video conference, Prime Minister Modi addressed the Chief Ministers of the states and UTs in order to research on the strategy to fight COVID-19 pandemic. PM Modi told the Chief Ministers that there is a ‘need’ to fight the ‘rumours of lockdown’. He told the CMs to focus on the second phase of the Unlock process.
Social media has been buzzing about the rumours of lockdown after COVID-19 tally rose drastically in many cities and metros, specifically in Delhi, Chennai and Mumbai.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a strong hint of further opening up of the economy. He also made certain about the facts that all the basic rules like wearing mask, observing social distancing and maintaining hygiene are to be strictly followed.
On Wednesday, PM Modi restated that India has been successful in stopping the aggressive growth of the pandemic due to the timely intervention. He emphasized on the fact that in India, very few COVID-19 patient are in need of ICU or ventilators. However, he stressed on increasing testing and the need to expand the health infrastructure. Key states like Maharastra, Tamil Nadu, Karnatak, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana and Bihar were part of Wednesday’s meeting.
