Anantnag Encounter; Hizbul Commander, Two LeT Militants Killed

News Desk:  On Monday morning during an encounter, security personnel gunned down three terrorists. The encounter took place at Jammu Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

A commander of Hizbul Mujahideen and two Lashkar-e-Taiba militants were killed during the encounter on Monday morning.

Following information about the presence of terrorists in the Khul Chohar area, an operation was carried out by J&K police along with CRPF and Rashtriya Rifles.

The slain Hizbul commander identified as Masood hailed from the Doda district of Jammu.

After the encounter, a police spokesperson said: “With Masood’s killing, Doda district in Jammu has become totally militant free once again as Masood was the last surviving terrorist of Doda district.”

According to sources, Masood was also involved in a rape case. Later he joined the militant group.

One of the two deceased Lashkar militant was a district commander.

An AK-47, two pistols along with a cache of ammunition were recovered from the slain militants.
