News Desk: The University Law College Students’ Union, GU (ULCSU, GU) submitted a memorandum to the Vice-Chancellor, of Gauhati University. The memorandum was submitted on July 1 2020, in the view of the uncertainties continuing in the examination and the issues persisting in the admission process.
The ULCSU, GU demanded proper clarification regarding the admission and examination process for the five-year and three-year law programs.
The memorandum stated that the final year law students are confused and worried.
Gauhati University has still not decided whether Final year law exams will be held or not.
The Higher Secondary Exam result was declared on June 25. But still, GU has not yet given any conclusion about the admission process for the five-year and three-year law programs. This has created uncertainty and confusion among students who want to pursue a Law Degree.
The Law student Union wants to know whether this year’s admissions will be done on the basis of merit or examinations will be held.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, many law examinations were postponed. In their memorandum, The ULCSU, GU demands the VC of Gauhati University to clarify whether the postponed examinations will be held or not. If yes, when will the examinations and admission process commence?
The Union body wants the Vice-Chancellor of GU to give equivalent importance to students pursuing a Law Degree.
