Today is the death anniversary of Vikram Ambalal Sarabhai (12 August 1919 – 30 December 1971). He is considered the Father of the Indian space program. He was involved in some major institution-building efforts in India. Moreover, he also laid the foundations for the indigenous development of nuclear technology for defense purposes.
