4 patients die in fire at a private hospital in Thane, Maharashtra

At least four patients die in a fire at a private hospital near Thane, in the wee hours of Wednesday.
The fire broke out at the Prime Criticare hospital at Kausa in Mumbra locality, at 3.40 am. There were no COVID patients in the hospital.
As soon as the fire broke three fire brigades were rushed to the spot and the fire was extinguished, an Official said.
Twenty patients including six in the Intensive Care Unit were evacuated, he added.
Local MLA and Maharashtra minister Jitendra Awhad informed reporters that three persons were burnt alive in the fire that destroyed the first floor of the hospital.
Chief Minister Uddhav Thackrey promised that the family of the deceased will be given an amount of five lakh rupees and those injured will get one lakh rupees each.
