Australia to host ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in 2022

As a part of the celebration of the release of the fixture for T20 cricket’s pinnacle men’s global event, major landmarks in the seven host cities of Australia were illuminated simultaneously with dazzling images of cricket’s global stars. The fixtures for the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia have been released, along with the draws for the First Round and Super 12 groups. Group 1 has been allocated to England, New Zealand, Australia, and Afghanistan, while Group 2 consists of India, Pakistan, South Africa, and Bangladesh. New Zealand takes on Australia in the opening match of the Super 12 in Sydney on Saturday 22 October, as the two finalists from the 2021 World Cup face-off. In addition to the Australia v New Zealand and Pakistan v India matches on the opening weekend, a number of other games in the Super 12 are likely to be important. It is scheduled to conclude at 19:00 local time on Sunday at the 100,024-seat Melbourne Cricket Ground.
