BJP spokesperson Pabitra Margherita praised Chief Minister Himata Biswa Sarma for the decision he has taken on the prevention of Chanda culture in the state. He further added that the CM of Assam has taken this step to protect Assam from the Chanda culture.
Some have taken Chanda as their way to live life. People have already spoken out against that road. The celebration committees welcomed the move taken by the chief minister in honor of the call of the people of Assam, from Shadia to Dhubri. The spokesperson urged them to move away from the forceful system of donation and maintain the dignity of their nation.
On the other hand, State BJP president Bhabesh Kalita welcomed the State Government’s move to stop the Chanda culture. Advocating the prevention of Chanda culture, Kalita said the BJP party never gives priority to the Chanda culture. Organizations should stop collecting Chanda monthly. He also reiterated that a law may be enacted to urge donors not to pay in the coming days
