Congress President Sonia Gandhi Summoned by ED over Alleged Money Laundering Case

Sonia Gandhi, 75, the President of the Indian National Congress on Thursday morning. The veteran politician appeared at the Enforcement Directorate’s headquarters in central Delhi accompanied by daughter Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. Gandhi is summoned by the ED over an alleged money laundering case related to the National Herald newspaper.

The questioning started at around 12:30 pm and lasted upto 2 hours.

Gandhi left the ED office after questioning on medical grounds as she is recovering from Covid, official sources said.

Huge protests that are going on all over the country by the Congress members in solidarity with the party chief. Many congress leaders are detained by the Delhi police in the wake of nationwide protest called by the party in support of party chief. Congress leaders include, P Chidambaram, Mallikarjun Kharge, Shashi Tharoor, Manickam Tagore, Sachin Pilot and others.

While, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi In Lok Sabha said in the wake of nationwide protest, “Everybody is equal before the law or not? Is the Congress president (Sonia Gandhi) a super human being? They (Congress) think they are above the law…”
