Delhi Government to Provide Free COVID Vaccines to all Above 18 Years

All citizens above the age of 18 years will be given the Covid-19 vaccine free of cost in Delhi, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced on Monday.

“Today we have given the approval for the purchase of 1.34crore vaccines. We will make an effort to ensure that it is purchased soon and administered at the earliest to people,” he added.

While speaking about the cost of the COVID vaccines set by the producers, the Delhi CM said that he hopes the price remains constant for both the state and central governments.

Bharat Biotech has fixed the price of its Covid-19 vaccine, Covaxin at Rs600 per dose for state governments and at Rs 1,200 per dose for private hospitals.

On the other hand, the Serum Institute of India (SII)’s Covishield will be available at a price of Rs400 per dose to state governments and Rs 600 per dose to private hospitals.
