If you’re the type of person who likes to screenshot your Messenger chats – then Mark Zuckerberg has a warning for you.
The Facebook founder and Meta CEO has announced that an update to Messenger will now notify users if someone screenshots one of their disappearing messages.
Your privacy and security on Facebook Messenger will soon get much stronger and this time, it is all about what people do with the chats they receive. Facebook Messenger will soon enable alert notifications for users when someone takes screenshots of their chats, just like Snapchat does it now. Currently, the notification was sent only when someone took a screenshot in ‘vanish mode’. But now this feature will be extended to all chats including the end-to-end encrypted chats. Meta in it’s official blog posts mentioned, “We think it’s important that you are able to use encrypted chats and feel safe, so we want to keep you informed if anyone takes screenshots of your disappearing messages.”
Once this feature will be rolled out users will get an alert notification whenever someone will take a screenshot of their chats.
