Another alarming news for the state comes amid covid19 transmission. The number of AIDS patients has increased drastically in Assam. This horrific information has come to light during a workshop organized by the District AIDS Prevention & Control Unit (DAPCU).
The District AIDS Control Officer said that a total of 20,841 cases have been filed in the state till the 31st of this year. Among these 20,841 AIDS cases include 1,811 pregnant women too. There are 358 AIDS cases in the district of Kamrup only. This horrific fact has surfaced after various anti-drug raids happening in the state.
