An Indian Army Cheetah helicopter has crashed in the Baruam area of Gurez sector of Jammu and Kashmir near the Line of Control. The helicopter was en route to carry a BSF (Border Security Force) personnel who was unwell. It is mentioned that during the crash the pilot and the co-pilot were in the helicopter. One pilot had died and the other one was injured critically.
The helicopter was very close to the Line of Control. The area was completely snowed out. The crashed helicopter was found in the snowed out area of Gujran Nallah and Bandipora at North Kashmir. According to officials the cause of the crash has not been found yet. Rescue team has been sent on foot while search helicopters have also been launched.
