International Tiger Day 2022: Every year, July 29 is celebrated as International Tiger Day to raise awareness of the endangered species. International Tiger Day was first founded in 2010 at the Saint Petersburg Tiger Summit in Russia to raise awareness about the loss of the tiger population globally. The day was founded in 2010, when the 13 tiger range countries came together to create Tx2 – the global goal to double the number of wild tigers by the year 2022. This year marks the twelfth year of celebration.
International Tiger Day is celebrated globally to raise awareness of the conservation of this magnificent creature which is getting endangered because of poaching, habitat loss etc.

The theme set for this year’s International Tiger Day is ” India launches Project Tiger to revive the tiger population”
On the occasion of International Tiger Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded all the tiger conservationalists for their continuous efforts to save the endangered species. He mentioned in his tweet, ” It would make you proud that India has 52 tiger reserves covering over 75,000 sq. km”
