A farmer from Madhya Pradesh has donated Rs 2 lakh to the local administration to buy oxygen with the money he saved for his daughter’s marriage.
Champalal Gurjar, from Gwal Deviyan village in Madhya Pradesh’s Neemuch district, handed over a cheque of Rs 2 lakh to Mayank Agarwal for buying two cylinders of oxygen one for the district hospital and another for Jeeran Tehsil where he lives.
Gurjar, had saved money for his daughter’s marriage. He wanted the marriage ceremony to be a grand one but the rising covid-19 cases, and by witnessing the current situation of the country he changed his mind just before his daughter’s marriage.
“So to make my daughter’s marriage memorable I donated two lakh to the district administration so that they can buy two oxygen cylinders”, he told Press Trust Of India.
If others follow the farmer’s way and donate even something small to fight against pandemic, it will become a lot easier said collector Agarwal.
