India is witnessing a rapid increase of new Covid19 variant Omicron. Therefore, the State Government of Meghalaya has released a new SOP on Monday. According to the new SOP, any form of gathering (official/public/political) is prohibited except weddings and funerals by 50%. All individuals will have to produce an RTPCR negative report valid by 72 hours before arrival or will go through a mandatory test on entry points. All private vehicles will have to follow the Odd-Even rule.
Night curfews will be from 10 pm to 5 am. Lastly, all individuals should follow Covid19 appropriate behavior. These new guidelines will be in effect from the 5th of January, 2022.
