On Thursday the AMSU Hojai District Committee staged a massive protest at Sadar Shankardev Nagar in Hojai. AMSU together with the evicted people of Lumding Forest areas and staged the protest. The protest program was observed in demand of the rights due to the evicted people of Lumding reserve forests.
The protesters also demanded to let the evicted people bring the crops cultivated on the land of Lumding forest which was decided between AMSU and the state government.
The protest was staged by the protesters in front of the Deputy Commissioner‘s Office after rallying from Kasari Maidan Shankardev Nagar. Hojai DC also issued a memorandum to the Chief Minister of Assam regarding the overall incident.
