Imphal; 18 January: Dr. Khumujam Ratan Kumar Singh was appointed as the working President of the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee by Congress on Monday right after he had submitted his resignation from the post of Vice-president of the Pradesh Congress Committee of poll-bound Manipur on Sunday.
Dr. Khumujam Ratan Kumar, a former Education Minister, had contested for the Mayang Imphal constituency in the year of 2017 assembly election but had lost.
“The Congress president has approved the proposal of the appointment of Dr Kh Ratan Kumar Singh as working president, Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee with immediate effect,” a party statement said.
Noted that the election in Manipur is being hold on two phases on February 27 and March 3 and the result will be out on March 10.
