Telangana to host this year’s National Tourism Day

25th January is celebrated as the National Tourism Day to create awareness regarding the importance of tourism for the country’s economy. This day is celebrated across the country every year on the 25th of January to appreciate India’s beauty. Each state in India has something unique to offer to tourists. From spirituality, tranquility, history, art, wildlife, food, to adventure, there is something for every kind of traveler.
The ministry of tourism is observing National Tourism Day under the aegis of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav,’ a 75-week grand celebration to mark 75 years of India’s Independence. This year’s theme for National Tourism Day is ‘Rural and Communication Centric Tourism.’
Several states have organized events to promote tourism in their region. On the other hand, the Central government is organizing the main event in Telengana’s Pochampally village, a weaver’s hamlet on the outskirts of Hyderabad. Pochampally was selected as one of the best tourism villages by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) in November 2021. The village is famous for its hand-woven Ikat Saris.
