In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, one terrorist was killed in an encounter that erupted this afternoon between terrorists and security forces in the Hanjipora area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district. The identity and group affiliation of the slain terrorist is yet to be ascertained
According to police, the encounter broke out after a joint team of security forces launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) based on specific input about the presence of terrorists in the area. The operation was underway till the last reports came in.
