A fire broke out in a vehicle after it hit on a culvert concrete railing between the divider of Lalmati National Highway in Sonapur. It occurred after the driver lost control of the Toyota vehicle (AS 06 J 06) that was Guwahati bound from Dibrugarh.
Local people immediately approached the burning car after noticing the driver trapped injured inside the car. They rescued the driver from inside the vehicle and admitted him to the local Sonapur Civil hospital but the vehicle was almost burnt completely. The injured person has been identified as Durga Prasad Tai and his house is in East Milan Nagar in Dibrugarh.
The man was sent to GMCH for better treatment from a hospital in Sonapur as his condition was critical.
