After floods, Nagaon grips in fear of Japanese Encephalitis

The health department suspects six people from flood-affected areas of Nagaon of being suffering from Japanese Encephalitis. All of them have been sent to GMCH.

The patients are Praveen Bora (Kampur), Khirkant Saikia (Bebejiya), Akmal (Shingimari), Shahida Khatun (Laokhowa), Sadanandbarua (Khutiktia) and Laxmikant Nath (Hariyamukh) respectively.

It may be noted that it is natural to see various diseases in the areas where the bane has been constructed. The concerned people said it is important to aware flood victims of post-flood illnesses that might occur after the water dries. Health camps have been set up in flood-affected areas
