All Assam Students Union (AASU) activists staged a protest at Dighali Pukhuri, Guwahati on Friday 19.
The demonstration was against the recent fuel price hike and hike in cylinder price.

The statewide protest has been collaborated against the ‘failure’ of the Assam government to control the hike in prices of essential commodities.
Earlier, AASU President Dipankar Kumar Nath and General Secretary Sankar Jyoti Baruah through a release stated the commencement of the protest.
“Supply depart has completely failed to control the price hike. AASU demands the price hike to be controlled at the earliest.” Dipankar Nath said.
