Nazira MLA Debabrata Saikia has been elected as the new leader of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP).
The decision was taken by the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC).
Saikia was also the former leader of the opposition in the Assam Legislative.
Meanwhile, Rakibul Hussain has been elected as the Deputy Leader of Congress Legislature Party.
