Bharatiya Janata Party’s list of candidates for the third phase of Assam Assembly Elections will be finalized on Saturday.
Top leaders of Assam BJP party on Friday left for Delhi to attend the party’s Central Election Commission (CEC) meeting which will be held on Saturday.
Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal, Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, BJP State President Ranjeet Kumar Dass, BJP National General Secretary Dilip Saikia, State Organizing Secretary Fanindra Nath Sarma, and National Vice President Baijayant Jay Panda will be attending the CEC meeting.
It is to be noted that the names of most of the candidates from Assam will be announced in the BJP’s final list.
Names of candidates from four constituencies of Guwahati Metro and six other constituencies under the Guwahati Lok Sabha constituency will be announced.
BJP party is also likely to induct the names of candidates from Barkhetri, Dharmapur, Sarbhog, Golakganj, and Palashbari constituencies.
Minister Himanta Bishwa Sharma, before leaving for Delhi stated that only the candidate with the best chance of winning is more likely to be given a ticket.
It is to be noted that many top leaders of the Assam state BJP party are competing for the seat in the four constituencies of Guwahati (Metro).
The Assam BJP party has already announced the names of Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma from Jalukbari constituency and BJP State President Ranjeet Kumar Dass from Patacharkuchi constituency for the third phase.
