Forest Minister Parimal Suklabaidya on Monday reviewed the work of Forest, Excise and Fisheries departments of Kamrup district.
During the meeting he ordered officials to start a survey process in a joint venture of Revenue, Forest Land, Directorate of Documents and Assam Survey department to de-encroach 160 hectares of land in the district.
He also urged officials to stop illicit liquor, free Amchang Wildlife Sanctuary and other protected areas from encroachments, expansion of green cover and generating revenue.
The forest minister has also directed officials to take urgent measures for excellent management of the three existing parks in the district.
