Assam: The dumping ground which was been decided to shift from Chandrapur to Boragaon. Which is a piece of good news for people residing in Chandrapur but at a large a bad news for environment and environmentalist. The dumping ground previously located at Boragoan has affected the Deepor Beel that is a Ramsar Site.
Minister Ashok Singhal has said that the dumping ground will be located in Boragoan right on the border on the starting point of the eco-sensitive zone surrounding Deepor Beel. The ground is said to start from where the eco-sensitive zone ends. He furthur added that the dumping ground will not harm the environment and the residents of that area.
