The Governor of Assam ordered the merger of the Guwahati Development Department and the Urban Development Department and henceforth renamed as “Department of Housing and Urban Affairs”.
In an official notification, the Governor of Assam has stated that from onwards, all correspondence will now be made in the name of the Department of Housing and Urban Affairs, instead of the Guwahati Development Department or the Urban Development Department.
Similarly, the Secretariat Administration Department and the General Administration Department have been merged, and renamed as “General Administration Department”.
Meanwhile, the notification further stated that all correspondence will now be made in the name of the General Administration Department, instead of the Secretariat Administration Department.
