Assam government has been extending its cooperation to other neighboring states in its fight against Covid 19.
State Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday interacted with his Meghalaya counterpart Conrad K Sangma and discussed the prevailing Covid scenario in both states.
CM Himanta Biswa Sarma also assured Conrad K Sangma that the state government will continue to give Meghalaya 16 MT of oxygen to help contain the pandemic.

Talking to Meghalaya CM over video conference in presence of senior government officials, Himanta Biswa Sarma also assured that Government of Assam will provide its neighboring state with doses of Covaxin vaccines.
In return, Meghalaya CM also assured that in return his government will provide Assam with doses of Covishield vaccines.
“Govt. of Assam will help Meghalaya with 100 doses of #Covaxin to be used as second jab.
Govt. of Meghalaya in turn will give 100 doses of #Covishield to Assam.” the official CMO Assam Twitter page further informed.

The Assam CM also requested Meghalaya CM to help in enabling smooth transportation of goods and passenger vehicles through Meghalaya to Barak Valley.
Meghalaya CM Conrad K Sangma also gave the assurance that Meghalaya Government will provide seamless transportation between the two states.
