Amid the rise in COVID-19 cases in Assam, the state government on April 21 has granted the status of ambulance to all the Oxygen vehicles.
All tankers and vehicles carrying Nitrogen, Argon, and Oxygen has been granted the status of ‘Ambulance’.
The decision has been taken to ensure their hassle-free movement in the state and transit through Assam for the quick delivery of Oxygen to critical centers.

“Assam Govt. has granted all oxygen vehicles- tankers carrying Nitrogen, Argon, and Oxygen – the status of ambulance, to enable their hassle-free movement in state & transit through Assam for speedy delivery of oxygen to critical centres.” Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed on Twitter.
