Assam: Inter-District Travel to Shut Down Soon

The state government has announced some strict rules and regulations to prevent the spike in the number of Covid 19 cases in Assam.
Inter-district transport is likely to shut down soon in the state if the rise in Covid 19 cases continues.

This announcement was made by Assam Health Minister Keshab Mahanta during his visit at the Dadra-Shingimari Covid Hospital on Sunday.
He also told the media that the government has taken several steps to prevent Covid 19 outbreak.
Many important measures will also be taken in the coming days.

Soon, the Inter-District travel will be stopped for a few days and the rules and regulations for Inter-District travel will be issued soon.
However, the minister stated that emergency services, vehicles carrying food items will be exempted from the Inter-District rules and regulations.

It may be recalled that Inter-District transport was stopped last year when Covid 19 cases in Assam increased at a rapid rate. This led to some reduction in the number of Covid 19 cases in the state.

The state Health Minister arrived and took stock of the patient in the Covid hospital.
Minister Keshab Mahanta also took stock of the ICU, ventilator, and oxygen system of the hospital. He also interacted with the Covid patients
Later, the Minister told reporters that the Dadra-Shingimari model hospital has 54 existing beds and has adequate oxygen.
He also mentioned the construction of an oxygen plant by attaching it to the hospital in a short span of time.
On the other hand, he also mentioned that there is no possibility of a complete lockdown.
