Assam chief minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma and his Meghalaya counterpart Conrad Sangma along with senior officials from the two states sat across the table to discuss the much-debated inter-state boundary issue on Friday at Assam Administrative Staff College in Guwahati.
The discussions revolved around the issue of the boundary dispute in the 12 disputed sites along the Assam-Meghalaya border.
Continuing the spirit of mutual friendship, a meeting was held on July 23 in Shillong to resolve the outstanding border issues between Assam and Meghalaya CMs.
This is the second time both the Chief Ministers are sitting for discussions related to the vexed issue.
After the earlier meeting a detailed discussion, both the state governments decided to adopt a pragmatic approach and move from status quo to solution.
In the ongoing meeting both the government are looking forward to a road map to resolve the issue.
Both the CMs are hopeful that after this meeting both the parties will come out with a common agenda of strengthening the long-standing friendship between Assam and Meghalaya and continue contributing to the development of India.
