Assam Mizoram border tension: New Cachar SP assures a return to normalcy

Newly appointed Cachar SP Ramandeep Kaur said that the situation along the Assam-Mizoram border continues to be tense but is under control. As of now, CRPF personnel has been deployed as a ‘neutral force’ to ensure peace, while Assam and Mizoram Police are holding their positions along the inter-state border.

SP Ramandeep said that the situation is now normal due to the presence of CRPF and the Assam-Mizoram forces that have been deployed in every area. Ramandeep further said that CM Himanta Biswa Sarma did not move to the conflict zone. At present, no movement is allowed into the zone.

SP Ramandeep Kaur stressed the need “To remain claim, to have trust in police and to have trust in Assam Government resolution.”
