Assam Rifles troops on Tuesday seized smuggled items worth Rs. 1.3 crores.
The illegal consignment of smuggled goods was seized at Champhai district in Mizoram.
After receiving specific information, Assam Rifles intercepted a truck bearing registration number MZ-04A-4497 and recovered the illegal consignment.
One person has also been arrested in connection with the seizure.
The recovered smuggled goods and the truck have been handed over to the Customs Department at Champhai district of Mizoram.
Taking to Twitter, Assam Rifles informed,
“#AssamRifles troops in Mizoram intercepted and recovered illegal consignment of smuggled goods worth approx Rs 1.3 Crores in Champhai district on 09 Mar. Carrier and recovered items handed over to Customs Department.”
