The state of Assam will soon have a Hockey Academy. Health Minister Keshab Mahanta made this announcement right after he was elected as the President of the Assam Hockey Association.
Keshab Mahanta was elected President of Assam Hockey Association at the annual meeting held at Amoni SIRD on Sunday. Tapan Kumar Das of Nagaon was elected the secretary and treasurer for the upcoming term.
Senior Vice-President Kishore Jayanta Madhab, Vice-president Mohan Chandra Bora, Antaripa Bora, Arup Kalita, Kalyani Deka have been elected for the upcoming term.
Premanand Akhankar, Jitu Bordoloi, Pramila Rangpipi, Vijaya Baradas, and Mrinal Jyoti Shahari, Sunita Dahangiri, Khusbu Shah Borah, Sanjit Pandey were elected as joint secretaries.
Ronen Sharma, Sanjeev Raj, Sarji Terong, Sanjay Kaur, Sharbani Nath, and Meenu Mai Nath were selected as six executive bearers. State Health Minister Keshab Mahanta, president of the newly elected Assam Hockey Association, said he would work to set up a hockey academy this time.
