3 Suspected Bangladeshi Cow Lifters lynched in Assam

NEWS DESK: Three suspected Bangladeshi cattle thieves were lynched by a mob at Bubrighst Tea estate of Patharkhandi in Karimganj district of Assam on Sunday.

According to the local sources, the three cow lifters were trying to escape with some cows when the locals caught them and thrashed them mercilessly.
This is the second such incident in the Patharkandi area , a smililar incident took place at Putni Tea estate last June.

The movement of the cattle thieves and smugglers have increased in the India -Bangladesh border area in the past few years .

It is said that there were a total of seven people in the group. The person whose cows were being stolen saw the theives who were running and he started screaming. Listening to the sreams, the locals gathered and caught three out of the seven and thrashed them to death .

On getting the information, a police team led by Additional S.P rushed to the spot. Names of the slain cattle lifters are yet to revealed, but the police have recovered Bangladeshi bread , mosquito coil , slayer etc. from the bodies. The Police have registered a case in this regard and and investigation is going on.

The tragic incident has created sensation in the Karimganj district as well as the entire Barak valley.
