An earthquake jolted Assam at 5.54 pm on Wednesday evening. According to the National Centre for Seismology, it measured 4.7 on the Richter scale.

The epicenter is located at around 7km from Dhekiajuli in the Sonitpur district of Assam.
The quake was also felt in Bangladesh, Myanmar (Burma), Bhutan, and China.
