Aamir Khan, the Bollywood actor, has recently planned a visit to Assam to promote his latest film “Lal Singh Chaddha.” The actor and his crew planned to arrive on August 14 ahead of the Independence Day celebrations. However, the actor is expected to attend the celebrations in Guwahati on the very next day.
The actor had originally planned to travel to Assam this week, but the Assam chief minister has asked him to postpone the trip till August 16 in order to accommodate the State’s 75th Independence Day celebrations.
Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister, stated to the media: “Aamir Khan wanted to come here and even spoke to me. But because this time the focus is on Independence Day and the whole Har Ghar Tiranga initiative and its significance, so we did not want it to get diluted. Therefore, I requested him to postpone and come after Independence Day.”
“We don’t want the focus to shift from the Tiranga on Independence Day,” CM continued. The movie “Lal Singh Chaddha,” starring Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor, was released on Thursday, August 11. This movie is a replication of the well-known Hollywood production Forrest Gump starring Tom Hanks, has been well-received by both audiences and reviewers. In addition, it has recently come under fire because of the ongoing boycott debate surrounding Bollywood movies.
