All Assam Students Union (AASU) Chief Advisor Samujjal Bhattacharya on Sunday while addressing a public session announced that he plans to retire from the students’ body during the union meeting to be held in Duliajan scheduled from November 18 to 21.
“I will retire at Duliajan conference. Earlier I wanted to retire from AASU at Moran and Dudhnoi conferences,” the AASU chief advisor said.
Samujjal Bhattacharya, who was on a two-month break due to health-related issues, made the announcement in a meeting at AASU’s Guwahati office.
Reacting to the allegations labeled on him by a former AASU activist, Bhattacharya said, “I disdain the misinterpreted comments on me by a recently-resigned state executive of the AASU.”
He also stated that he would not take part in active politics for any reason.
