Amid the second wave of the COVID-19 crisis, for the second consecutive year, the Maa Kamakhya Devalaya in Guwahati has decided not to hold Ambubachi Mela for this year.

The Ambubachi Mela which attracts lakhs of domestic and foreign tourists was scheduled to be held in the fourth week of June.
It was decided on June 4 by the Kamakhya Board of administrations that only priests will perform the rituals for these days and that the festival would be canceled.
The head priest of the temple said, “We will only conduct the daily puja every day followed by blog and aarti. “
The Ambubachi Mela is an annual fair that is held at the temple premises is the celebration of the annual mensuration course of the goddess Maa Kamakhya. This celebration attracts lakhs of devotees and pilgrims from all corners of the globe.
