Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) on Monday issued a notification stating the cancellation of the recruitment examination that was conducted on November 8.
The exam was conducted for the optional subject ‘Social Works’ for the post of Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) and Allied Cadres under the Social Welfare Department.
However, the situation erupted on Sunday when APSC aspirants appearing for the Social Works examination were provided with a Sociology question paper.
Due to this blunder by APSC, students demanded the examination be postponed as the syllabus of the CDPO post comprised of Social Work.
Tens of thousands of candidates applied for the 73 vacant posts of CDPO.
