A brave Army personnel from Assam was martyred during the multiple ceasefire violations by Pakistan Army troops in Jammu & Kashmir.
The slain Army jawan has been identified as Hardhan Rai hailing from Bilasipara in Assam. During the ceasefire violation, two more security personnel including a BSF sub-inspector were martyred and three civilians lost their lives.
Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal also mourned the sad demise of Hardhan Rai on Twitter stating,
“My deepest condolences on the demise of @adgpi personnel Hardhan Rai from Bilasipara of Assam in a dastardly attack by Pakistan yesterday in J&K. I salute the valor of the brave soul. His martyrdom will not go in vain”

In reply to the ceasefire violation, the Indian Army retaliated strongly killing atleast eight Pakistan Army soldiers including three Special Service Group (SSG) commandoes, 12 more Pakistani soldiers were also injured during the retaliatory firing.
A large quantity of Pakistani bunkers, launch pads, and fuel dumps was also destroyed.
