Congress MP, Gaurav Gogoi on Thursday after performing the last rites of his father Tarun Gogoi told reporters that the ashes of the former Assam Chief Minister will be first taken to Titabor assembly constituency.
After Titabor, ashes of the Congress leader will then be taken to the other parts of the state. During the final days at the hospital, the veteran Congress leader told doctors that he had the urge to visit Titabor and also travel to other parts of Assam.
The veteran congressman’s family members have decided to fulfill his last wish by taking his ashes to Titabor and then to other parts of Assam.
His ashes will be taken to Titabor, Brahmaputra and Barak valleys, Upper & Lower Assam.
The longest-serving Chief Minister of the state was cremated on Thursday with full state honors. The 86-year-old leader breathed his last on November 23 after battling with post-COVID issues for almost 4 months.
