Assam: 25 people injured after bus carrying more than 50 passengers plunge into gorge

At least 25 people suffered severe injuries when a bus plunged down a narrow gorge on Wednesday October 12 in Golakganj, Assam’s Dhubri district.

The incident was reported near the Gorerhat area.

Sources claim that the bus, which was travelling from Cooch Behar to Dhubri, abruptly swerved off the road in response to an approaching motorcycle and plunged into the gorge.

The injured were sent to a Halakura hospital in Dhubri for treatment after the incident.

According to reports, there were 50 people in the bus overall.

Local police arrived at the accident scene and pulled up the bus from the gorge.
