The list of candidates of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) alliance for the Assam Assembly elections are likely to be published in the first week of March.
Assam state BJP president Ranjeet Kumar Dass while speaking to the Media at Pathsala stated that the party will declare the final list after an important meeting in the first week of March.
The seat-sharing among BJP’s alliance partners will be discussed at the national level, the BJP president said.
A total of 126 seats will be up for grabs in three phases in the assembly elections in Assam. The first phase of the elections in Assam will be held on March 27 and will include 47 constituencies. The second phase will be held on April 1 and will feature 39 constituencies. The third phase of the elections will be held on April 6 and will consist of 40 constituencies.
Election results will be declared on May 2.
