News Desk: The Assam State BJP on Tuesday announced its newly formed executive committee. The committee comprises of eight vice-presidents and four general secretaries.
Assam BJP appointed Hemaprabha Borthakur, Bijuli Kalita Medhi, Rekharani Das Boro, Swapnanil Baruah, Ratan Teron, Pulak Gohain, Jayanta Das and Jayanta Malla Baruah as the party’s vice-presidents in the state.
While, the ruling party appointed Silchar MP Rajdeep Roy, Jorhat MP Topon Kr Gogoi, Tezpur MP Pallab Lochan Das, and Phanindra Nath Sharma as general secretaries.
The party also appointed Rajkumar Sharma as the treasurer of the state committee.
Besides, presidents of Yuba Morcha and Mahila Morcha were also appointed.
BJP state president Ranjit Kr Dass stated that the party has given preference to women leaders in the executive committee.
It is worth mentioning that the general secretaries of the party can not contest the upcoming Assembly polls.
