Prime Minister Narendra Modi via video conferencing on Tuesday interacted with the Chief Ministers of various states.
The video conferencing was done between Modi and the Chief Minister of states that are witnessing a surge in COVID-19 cases.
Home Minister Amit Shah, Health Minister Harsh Vardhan, Chief Ministers of Assam, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, and West Bengal were present during the video conferencing.
Till now, the PM has held several virtual meetings with various states over the pandemic situations.
The Prime Minister during the video conference also discussed the vaccine distribution strategy. The government has been putting many measures for the quick and effective distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Till now, five vaccines are in the advanced stage of development in India, four are in Phase II/III and one is in Phase I/II trials.
The daily COVID-19 case count of the country is now below 50,000 for the last few days. However, several urban areas have witnessed a surge in the number of cases forcing many cities to impose restrictions and lockdowns.
As of November 23 night, the total Covid-19 case-load of India was 91.77 lakhs while the recovered cases have crossed 86.04 lakhs with 4.38 lakhs active COVID-19 cases.
