News Desk: Assam has been witnessing a sharp rise in the number of COVID-19 positive cases. The number of fatalities in the state is also rising rapidly.
On Tuesday, six people died due to the deadly virus while four people died on Monday. Assam state’s total death tally due to COVID-19 has reached 46. The state saw a total of 859 new COVID-19 positive cases in the last 24 hours, 627 cases have been detected in Guwahati city alone.
Assam Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma on July 14 twitted, “Alert ~ 859 new #COVID19 ve+ patients in Assam, 627 in Guwahati alone. Take care & precautions. Total cases 18666, Recovered 12173, Active cases 6444, Deaths 46.”
According to government reports, the total number of Coronavirus positive cases in the state has increased to 18,666.
Assam now has a total of 6,444 active COVID-19 positive cases and 12173 people have recovered so far.
Till now, the state government has conducted a total of 5,75,867 COVID-19 sample testing at 14 laboratories and ward clinics.
